Why consider Puglia

Our editorial reason to consider Puglia is the choice between a resort-focused stay and time in a rural setting. Historic masserie are part of the region’s architectural heritage, but the name does not prove that a property is fortified, converted into a hotel or still a working farm. Ask about the particular building and facilities. Compare an actual quote with the Amalfi Coast rather than assuming a fixed saving or easier driving.

Borgo Egnazia: choose the area as well as the room

Borgo Egnazia is inspired by a Puglian village, with accommodation including La Corte and Il Borgo. Vair offers spa treatments and wellbeing programmes; San Domenico Golf and the Cala Masciola and La Fonte beach areas add options to investigate. The La Egnazia suite has a private heated pool. From 1 June to 30 September and during Easter, Christmas and New Year holidays, La Corte’s rooms, pools and restaurants are reserved for guests over 12; families with younger children are directed to Il Borgo or the Case. Confirm the current rule and exact category for your party.

Where to base yourself

Start with the places you want to visit, then map them from the exact hotel address. A Savelletri di Fasano resort, an Ostuni stay and a touring itinerary farther afield are different choices. We would favour fewer hotel changes and realistic journeys over trying to cover the whole region. Compare a rental car, arranged driver and local transport for your plans; driving yourself is not a universal requirement.

Sea and beaches

Check the specific beach rather than relying on a regional description. Torre Canne has a sandy beach in the coastal dunes park; elsewhere your chosen hotel may use a different stretch of coast. Borgo Egnazia lists Cala Masciola and La Fonte separately. Ask about the surface, water entry, current conditions, supervision, opening dates and transport before deciding whether it suits your party.

Timing and getting there

Compare flights into Bari and Brindisi, then obtain a route-specific transfer estimate from your hotel. Our editorial starting points are June and September, but choose according to the activities and facilities you want, with a forecast and opening-date check near departure. Do not treat a calendar month as a promise of a particular sea temperature, empty beaches or room availability.

Compare total quotes

Request the same dates, party and room category, with taxes, meals, beach access, transfers, childcare and cancellation terms stated. Then add the touring transport you actually need. A room, suite and multi-bedroom villa are different products; do not use a single headline rate or fixed regional discount to compare them.
