A mainland itinerary can avoid the ferry or onward island flight. It does not remove the airport transfer: Amanzoe is near Porto Heli, while Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino is in Messenia. Check the drive to the specific property before choosing Athens or Kalamata. For a week-long stay, our advice is to choose one base and plan sightseeing around it.

We would shortlist it for travellers drawn to classical architectural references and private outdoor space. Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino is a beachfront resort in Navarino Bay, Messenia, with suites and villas. The wider Costa Navarino destination has four signature golf courses; The Bay Course is on site, while the others involve a transfer.
