How Much Does a Bali Honeymoon Cost in 2026?
A full breakdown of villa rates, flights, private drivers, dining and the extras — plus what a good ten-night Bali honeymoon actually comes to.
The single biggest variable is the villa tier
Bali is unusual in that the gap between very good and world-class is enormous in price and small in comfort. A beautiful private-pool villa in Ubud or Seminyak with daily breakfast and a plunge pool runs US$350-600 a night. The same footprint at Four Seasons Sayan, Bulgari Uluwatu or an Aman runs US$1,100-2,500. Both are excellent honeymoons; only one of them doubles the total.
What ten nights actually costs
Mid-luxury, ten nights split between Ubud and the Bukit Peninsula: US$4,500-6,000 on villas, US$900 on dining, US$600 on a driver and excursions, US$400 on spa, plus flights. Total, excluding flights: US$6,400-7,900. Top tier over the same ten nights: US$14,000-22,000 on villas, US$2,500 on dining, US$1,200 on private guiding and boats. Total, excluding flights: US$17,700-25,700.
Flights and timing
From the US west coast expect US$800-1,500 per person in premium economy and US$3,500-6,000 in business, via Singapore, Tokyo or Seoul. From the UK, US$700-1,200 economy or US$3,000-4,500 business via Doha, Dubai or Singapore. Booking four to six months ahead saves 20-30%; July, August and the Christmas period are the peaks in both airfare and villa rates.
The costs people underestimate
Three of them. Airport transfers: Ngurah Rai to Ubud is 90 minutes to two and a half hours in traffic, and hotel cars charge US$45-90. Service and tax: most luxury properties add 21% on top of the quoted rate, so read whether the price is nett. And private guiding — a good English-speaking guide for a temple and rice-terrace day is US$90-140 and transforms the day, but it is rarely in anyone's budget.
Where to spend and where not to
Spend on the last four nights rather than the first. Jet lag from the US or UK makes the first two days a blur, and a US$2,000 villa is wasted on them. Spend on one exceptional dinner — Locavore in Ubud or Cuca in Jimbaran — rather than three good ones. Do not spend on an ocean-view room in Ubud, which does not exist, or on all-inclusive packages, which are poor value in a destination with this much good independent dining.
The best value months
April, May, June and September deliver dry-season weather at 25-35% below July-August rates. October is a gamble that usually pays off. Avoid Nyepi, Bali's day of silence in March, unless a full 24 hours confined to the property with no lights appeals — some couples love it, most do not know it is coming.
