Hotel Santa Caterina — The Amalfi Town Anchor

Santa Caterina uses a glass-elevator descent through the limestone to a beach club carved directly into the rock face. Praiano's minimalist all-white property runs a private elevator down to Gavitella beach, one of the sunniest on the coast (the last spot to lose direct sun in the afternoon). For May, June and September, book 5–7 months ahead. For July and August, book 9–12 months ahead — these six hotels are the first to sell out on the coast.
