Flight Times, Transfers, and Logistics
From Singapore: Bali is 2h 40m direct, Phuket is 1h 45m direct. From Hong Kong: Bali 5h, Phuket 3h 30m. From Sydney: Bali 6h direct, Phuket requires a Singapore/KL connection (10–12h total). Once you land: Phuket transfers are 25–90 minutes to any luxury resort on smooth roads. Bali transfers are 45–120 minutes and traffic in south Bali (Uluwatu, Seminyak) is unpredictable — build in buffer time.
How to Choose
Choose Bali if the trip is 10+ nights, kids are 7+, you want to combine jungle and beach, and value multi-bedroom villas at a lower rate. Choose Phuket if the trip is 5–8 nights, kids are under 6, you want to arrive and not move for a week, and you value the polish of a large full-service resort. For return visitors, the strongest combined trip is 4 nights Phuket (beach-only unwind) followed by 5 nights Ubud, Bali (cultural depth) — connected via a 4-hour Singapore transit.
