8-Day Luxury Maldives Honeymoon Itinerary

Morning

Arrive Malé. Met by the resort's airport representative who escorts you directly to the seaplane lounge — the best ones (Soneva, Four Seasons) are extraordinary.

Afternoon

Seaplane to Baa Atoll (40 minutes). The aerial view of the atolls is the trip already starting.

Evening

Light dinner in your overwater villa. Resort staff usually arrange a champagne welcome — accept it but keep the night gentle.

Morning

In-villa breakfast on your overwater deck. Take the slide from your villa into the lagoon if your villa has one (Soneva Jani).

Afternoon

Couple's spa ritual — most top resorts offer a 3-hour signature treatment that genuinely transcends the standard hotel spa.

Evening

Sunset cruise on a traditional dhoni with private champagne service. The light at this hour is unmatched.

Morning

Private boat to Hanifaru Bay (UNESCO biosphere). Manta rays gather here in season — among the best snorkelling experiences on earth.

Afternoon

Private sandbank lunch — the resort sets up a table on a deserted sandbar with a chef and a butler. Genuinely cinematic.

Evening

Quiet villa dinner. After a big day on the water, both of you will want it.

Morning

Private dive guide for two reef dives at Baa Atoll's best sites. PADI cert holders only; otherwise schedule a discovery dive.

Afternoon

Lunch at the resort's underwater restaurant if available (Subsix at Niyama, Ithaa at Conrad). Otherwise overwater fine dining.

Evening

Cinema Paradiso — if at Soneva Jani, the open-air sand cinema is extraordinary. Reserve in advance.

Morning

Long, slow last morning at Soneva. Final swim, final breakfast on the deck.

Afternoon

Seaplane back via Malé, speedboat to a North Malé property (One&Only Reethi Rah or Joali in Raa Atoll if substituting).

Evening

Welcome dinner at the new resort. Each Maldivian resort has its own character — let the second half of the trip have its own pace.

Morning

Bicycle around the island. Reethi Rah is unusually large (six kilometres) so the bicycle is essential rather than ornamental.

Afternoon

Private chef beach lunch on one of the resort's twelve private beaches.

Evening

Tasting menu at Botanica or Tapasake. Both world-class.

Morning

Honeymoon photoshoot at sunrise — most top resorts have a resident photographer. The images are usually outstanding and you'll regret not having them.

Afternoon

Free time. Spa, swim, sleep. Eight days in, this is the right call.

Evening

Private dinner on the beach — string lights, dedicated waiter, a tasting menu designed by the executive chef. The big honeymoon dinner.

Morning

Final breakfast. Speedboat back to Malé (35 minutes from Reethi Rah).

Afternoon

Day-use lounge at the airport or pre-cleared check-in via Emirates First / Qatar First. The arrival lounges in the Maldives are not great.

Evening

Departure. Most international flights leave between 8pm and midnight.
