The dry season, and what 'dry' means here
Saint Lucia Meteorological Services describes December to May as the drier season and June to November as the wetter season. Rainfall varies across the island, and “dry” does not mean rain-free. Use the local forecast and the conditions at your chosen hotel rather than assuming an island-wide weather guarantee.
May and June: dates worth comparing
We would compare late April, May and June if your dates are flexible. May lies at the end of the meteorological drier season, while June begins the wetter period. Compare the same room, meals and cancellation terms across dates, and leave room in the itinerary for rain.
Hurricane season, in proportion
The Atlantic hurricane season runs from 1 June to 30 November, with its climatological peak around 10 September. Those basin-wide dates are not a forecast of whether Saint Lucia will be affected on your dates. Check official forecasts, the hotel and airline cancellation terms, and the conditions and exclusions of any travel-insurance policy before paying.
Events worth timing around
Check the official event calendar before choosing dates. The Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival is normally in the April–May period, while Carnival is in July. For late-year trips, the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers finishes in Rodney Bay; the organiser lists its 2026 Saint Lucia prizegiving for 19 December. Events may influence availability, but do not assume island-wide sell-outs or a fixed fortnight of disruption.
Matching the month to the room
Room design matters as much as the month. Jade Mountain is known for open-sided sanctuaries, but its official accommodation page identifies one Sky suite with windows and air-conditioning that can be requested. Ladera’s FAQ lists two air-conditioned options, Villa La Fleur and La Petite Fleur. Confirm the actual room before booking if air-conditioning is important to you.
